The Zoning Board of Adjustment derives its authority from State RSAs 673, 674, 676 and 677, as well as from the town's local Ordinance. The Board has the authority to allow slight variances from specific terms of the Ordinance where it can be shown that extreme hardship would result from strict adherence to the Ordinance.
The Board meets monthly (on the 2nd Thursday, at 7:00 pm in the Main Meeting Room of Town Hall) when it has applications for deliberation. Any decision of the Board is subject to appeal - by the applicant or by any other concerned party - for a 30-day period following the hearing.
